Default Configuration
As of version .2 upon installation the extension will be attempting to block explicit material by default.
Disable Scanning
To disable the scanning you can go to the extension manager right click on this extension and select preferences. By default the Enable Scanning box will be checked. To disable scanning simply uncheck the box next to "Enable Scanning" and click OK.
Password Protection
In the preferences dialog you can set a password. Simply type the password into the text box labeled Password: and click ok. Once set, this password will be required to open the Preferences dialog.
Locking
The checkbox labeled Locked in the preferences dialog controls whether or not the extension can be uninstalled or disabled through the firefox extension manager. If this box is checked, you will not be able to uninstall or disable the extension through the standard firefox extension manager. If you want to uninstall the extension you must first go to the BlockXXX options and uncheck the Locked option.
Enable Alerts
The Enable Alerts checkbox can be turned on to produce an alert containing the text that failed on any particular page. It is useful for testing/debugging purposes with regard to the list of words used to scan a page. You shouldn't need to enable this option at any time unless a page you are trying to view that isn't pornographic is having all of its images and links disabled (IE a false positive). In this case, please email me at tom at technerve dot com with the page that failed and the word or words that appear in the alert and I will make adjustments to the list of words (for now). In a future version it will be possible for you to modify this list yourself.
